I finally made Joe's smoked salmon and sorrel tart and it's just great!

it has a very subtle but rich taste to it. I just love it and will certainly be making it again.

I also made the Queen of Sheba cake Joe raves about. I did mess up the frosting and had "product seperation" but still, it tastes great. it's a lot lighter than the Bete Noir I usually make, 2 lbs of chocolate lighter! I love the mousse like texture of the Sheba.

I must be channeling Joe cause I had a big pot of chicken stock going too. that will get reduced more this afternoon. tomorrow I'm making his tomato sauce recipe he posted that goes with baked polenta and over the weekend I'll make his sorrel/leek/potato soup.....

I'm begining to feel like Whoopie in Ghost and Joe is exhausting me.... LOL

great recipes!

I'm SO glad you enjoyed it Randi! This makes my day. I love being channeled....

cassoulet!! Joe, you are too funny! What about Chicken w/ Vinegar Sauce or something a little

simpler! Going right to the cassoulet!!! Well, it is great to start the day with a smile!!

Best,
Barb

Barb, please don't interrupt while I'm channelling secret subliminal messages....

You'll blow my cover, LOL. Randi has already done my chicken with vinegar, so now I'm going for broke.

I just emailed the cassoulet recipe to a friend of mine who just made CI's 2-day

onion soup. I figure he's a good candidate for the cassoulet.... I'm no dummy! '-))

and, we are planning a "Joe" night and making one of his menu's. they loved Joe's manicotti recipe.

I'm making myself a helmet from aluminum foil, heavy duty foil, of course. I must stop Joe's thoughts from taking over my mind...

resistance is futile.... you will be absorbed. I'm now planning an entire

french menu, ala Joe.

gougere
escargots
coq au vin
brussle sprouts (if I can stand the smell '-)
tarte tatin
and maybe roasted chestnuts

the foil helment didn't work.... must stop Joe.... must stop Joe......

oh heck! Viva la Joe! "-))))
