I would like to make individual Buche de Noel for a dinner party...

I have a great recipe but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it with success. I guess you would have to spread the batter thinner for the cake to roll. Any other pitfalls?

Thanks

This reminds me how much fun it is to make meringue mushrooms for decorating...

maybe I'll throw a few in my Christmas baskets. I've never made individual buche de noel, but I don't forsee any problems, except getting a thin batter.

I've had the opposite problem, trying to do a full-size buche with cake that is too thin.

Making 1-1/2 recipes for the same size pan did the trick.

Go for it--frosting hides everything.

BTW, I was disappointed, when I once spent Christmas in Paris, that most of the buches were the ice cream type. They were good, but I can get ice cream cake here.
