Is the bacon as a dessert hype all that people say it is? (Link to cookie and fudge recipes)

i think that if i'm gonna blow my day's allowance of fat at dessert time,...

i,d rather do it with chocolate.

 
Bacon cake... doesn't sound too good to me. Although one time I added cooked

bacon to corn muffins, and they were pretty good as a breakfast item. I always wondered why they didn't require refrigeration though (?).

 
Personally, I'm kind of over it (except for Maple Bars with Bacon). Unless the bacon is really lean

and perfectly cooked, you end up with an extremely greasy end product. If you cook the bacon too much, you may as well just use salted butter. Still, the chocolate-bacon bar with creme anglaise at "Animal" was seriously fit t'eat.
