Hi All,

Let me preface this by saying that i am neither selling anything or offering money. I am not interested in your political, religious or personal beliefs because I believe that this is one thing any sensible human being can agree upon. Genocide is an atrocious, unspeakable evil. The genocide that is occurring today in Dafur, Sudan truely shows the darkest side of man. I am mortified by the events that have been unfolding in Dafur. I keep hoping that someone, anyone will do somthing to help. I cry when i think of the violence and terror that these people are enduring day after day and year after year. But, my mortification, hope and tears do nothing to make any difference.

I was thinking, what can I do to make even the slightest positive impact and such a dire, seemingly impossile situation and I thought of the people on the swap.

This is an idea in its infancy, I would like to create an organiztion of people called Food Lovers Against Genocide (FLAG) Do you think that we could publish a cookbook with recipes from around the world and send all proceeds to humanitarian relief organizations that have been carefully researched and have verified credentials? I, of course would seek to obtain as much pro-bono service as possible as well as contacting well known restuarants and peope/chefs to request recipes and possibly monetary support to offset any costs incurred.

I am simply asking all of you to consider if you would be willing to contribute a recipe or ten to help this sorrowful cause. I am NOT asking for money. Please reply with your opinion via the swap, PM or if you prefer e-mail me at:

Thanks for your time.

Blessings,

lisa

I did a collaborative cookbook with similar purposes last year, and it did pretty well. smileys/smile.gif
