Pre-lim report on the new "Green Pan" ( I only used it once so far...)

I sauteed ground lamb & onions etc to make pastitia (sp). The interior performed well, even heating. The pan is not so heavy but a decent weight. You still have to "baby" it as in wooden or heat resistant nylon utensils. You don't use high heat when it is empty and don't use more than med high heat. However I found that the OUTSIDE bottom of the pan scratched pretty easily. I have a GE gas range with cast iron burner grills and simply moving the pan back & forth while sauteeing did scratch the outside bottom easily on the first use. The exterior has some kind of coating as well. If you have a ceramic top stove this should not be a problem. I haven't used it in the oven yet.

PS Do you think I should consider returning the $40-plus pan?

After reading reviews of this product, I would return it. Long term use

does not seem to be very satisfactory. There were complaints about the scratching and not being "non-stick" very long. I'll stick with my QVC Cooks Essentials. Love, love, love these pans.

I've used it twice more. Sauteeing salmon & risotto. both turned out fine. I haven't used it in>>>

the oven yet. I'll go check out the reviews though. thanks for suggesting that.
