Totally NFRC but I need some info: My service org has "adopted" a local family

for Christmas. We buy the usual- gifts for all and gift certificates from the local market.

I have the 11 year old girl who takes a 10 slim. I no longer have any clue what 11 year old girls want for Christmas. I know nothing else about her.

Any of you have 11 year old female children/grandchildren/students?

I asked my coworker who has a 10-year daughter....

WEBKINZ, it's a stuffed toy that with a unique number on it. You log this number into an online WEBKINZ community. Then you can feed it online, etc. Very popular, but she would need access to a computer.

"Limited Too" = store with popular clothes for her age group.

"Claire's" = store for inexpensive jewelry and accessories. Taylor loves hair accessories from there.

Any book series about girls her age.

Taylor NO LONGER likes (ie: she's too old for):
Bratz
Hello Kitty
Spongebob

I would guess, that if the family is financially challenged right now, she would love to have

some "fashion" and be able to dress like the others her age?

OK, I've got enough problems figuring out fashion for my age I've got no clue about 11 year olds smileys/wink.gif

HI Cyn....Michael is on to something here...."High School Musical" has been referred to

the "Grease...ie Olivia Newton John, etc" of 2007. It is extremelly popular with this age group. You can't go wrong with anything related to either High School Musical or Hannah Montana (As suggested by Angie).

What a nice thing you are doing!

Regards,
Barb

maybe you could contact the local school and tell the principal what you are doing and they

can get you an age appropriate fashion counsler? just a couple of things that are the rage with her peers.

I just ordered from there for my 13 yo niece -

I googled "limited too" and when I clicked on the link it gave me a 25% off coupon.

my niece loves kits to make bracelets, necklaces, any kind of jewelry whether it's beading, braiding

shrink art...you name it. Klutz Press makes some great little kits for varying ages/skill levels. it has the added bonus of being somewhat educational and practical, not 'just another plastic thingy'. knitting has been catching on, too...

and re: clothes, maybe a gift certificate? if you don't know what store to choose, a lot of malls

offer certificates that can be used in any store within the mall - then she could choose anything.
