Can anyone tell me if cassava starch is the same as tapioca starch?

Rose Levy Beranbaum uses cassava starch (or ground tapioca) in one of her cookies and raves that it makes it very tender. From what I've researched, cassava starch and tapioca starch are described interchangeably.

I have tapioca starch (for ice cream) but have no clue even where to buy cassava flour. And I'd rather not buy it to just try one cookie recipe. But I also don't want to waste ingredients by using the tapioca if it isn't the same.

I saw Cassava flower for the first time a few days ago at a local Pan-Asian market when I was looking for glutinous rice flour (for gluten free Chinese dumpling recipe). I'm pretty sure cassava flower and cassava starch are the same thing. tapioca flour and tapioca starch are often sold as the same thing.

Tapioca starch

Since they're derived from the same plant, it should come as no surprise that tapioca starch can be a good replacement for cassava. You can use tapioca starch easily in place of cassava flour in everything from main dishes to baked goods.
 
Thanks to both of you. I’ll try the tapioca starch.
I wondered about this because Bob's Red Mill says that corn flour is not the same as corn starch. So I was concerned that the same was true of cassava flour.
