Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies

Anyone remember these from the 1980’s. They went viral on the internet and I feel, are the best chocolate chip cookies around. I have made the recipe 100’s of times, if not more. Today I usually cut in half as it is a thick heavy dough and my mixer gets rather annoyed with me when I try the full recipe. Here is the full version. I have swapped around the nuts and choco chips in a zillion combinations. Today I made white choco and macadamia nuts. One of the other things I love about this recipe is the ground oatmeal. I carried that idea thru to my oatmeal cookies grinding up some of the oats. It gives a great texture. And, the ground milk choco in the dough, LOVE that!!

Thank you Gay, good article!

Huh…I’ve always added ground oats, but that was because of the Neiman Markus cookie recipe:

The FAMOUS Neiman Marcus Cookie Recipe!

Are they very different from Mrs Fields?

My current favorite is the NYC Levain Bakery chocolate chip, the size of which is slightly obscene. I use Stella Parks version

Mine, however, are proportional to the size of my mouth, not my entire head.

Also, you have to really like walnuts because they are a major component, not just an optional add-in.
