closed Austin Creek Grill & Bakery, in December for good. It had a beautiful setting with a gorgeous sunset view. Located next to the ocracoke ferry landing. The food was excellent & beautifully presented. Their bakery was in a store across from them. Everythig was just sinful! The créme brulée was my weakness. Those of you that may have been, know what a loss this is to the island. Just had to share my bad news with someone, I knew would understand!

I worked there in 2005 <3

Many of the long time famous restaurants on fisherman’s wharf in San Francisco have closed due to prices on long time leases being jacked way up in price. Recently they announced Alito‘s, a famous spot that I’ve been to not only many times, but it’s been there my whole life,on fisherman’s wharf is being torn down and replaced by a public plaza.

The entire wharf? Oh my, that's a shame. Fond memories of hot seafood chowder in a sourdough bowl on the wharf. :(

Not the whole wharf, but Alito’s is being torn down and turned into a plaza. It was right on the water. Not only can I remember eating there as a kid, but went on many dates, and get togethers there. It had been there since 1925 and was one of the historic staple restaurants on the wharf.
