The "Kind Heart" 8-spice assortments at special prices for holidays

2 different gift-boxed assortments of 8 spices for $20, along with a kitchen towel, pin and magnet. An inexpensive way to replenish frequently used spices and/or a great opportunity to try Penzey favorites. Either box is also a great gift! Colleen

Sounds like a great idea

both for myself and my darling young chef-nieces. Thanks for the idea.

That place is a VACUUM CLEANER !

DH was along, throwing extra seasoning mixes into the basket. Came to $100 so out came the plastic. This is not a good start to holiday spending! But on the good side, my holiday cooking will be extra delicious!

I find it over stimulation for me.. Seriously... I have been to the one in NY a few times. I just

don't know where to start, so I end up walking in many circles, feeling the need for everything but ultimately leaving empty handed.
Good idea to come up with some thoughts before you go.
Glad you and dh had fun!

I was just seriously overwhelmed. Ever go to a toy store and see a kid that is running in circles;

yelling they want this and this and this; and squealing with delight and crying that they can't get everything. Then throwing themselves down on the floor and having a complete meltdown in the barbie aisle? Well, that is me at Penzy's...... : )

Here is what I do. See something you want, buy a small plastic jar

try it. If you like it order in glass jar. If you find you use it up, buy in bulk, but only enough to fill the glass jar twice or so. Then if it is still favorite you know you have it made and are not wasting money. I do not have a Penzeys near me, but buy on line. I started buying this way, and they always send you a sample or two or three in those small plastic jars. I keep my bulk bags in the bag they come in but bag them again in a freezer bag. Then put them in a drawer nearer the floor and they stay cool and in a dark place and stay fresh for a year or more. I put multiple bags in that same freezer bag, keeping herbs and spices separate. I put a label on the front of the freezer bag telling me what the contents are.
