Wowza, those cake layers are TALL! It's like each layer, sliced in half, could stand alone as an

individual 2-layer cake. Beautiful job, Sally. And I LOVE the cute anecdote about your puppies and that frosted sandal! Dogs don't miss a lick, do they? (Pun intended!)

Thanks for your review of LAYERED--I also went out to Amazon and read the author's Introduction. What a beautiful cake baking book.

it's been almost a month....

... in four days actually it will be a month that we said goodbye to Chief

just yesterday I was looking for him, in a complete flash back of memory, then realized with a sharp pain that he is not around anymore

it will be hard to make IMK without him, but I've got some ideas to turn it into something nice... Chief Stories!

... feeling a little less intimidated by cake baking... it "only" took seven years... smileys/wink.gif

I think 6 layers would have been overkill, I'm glad i decided to stick with 4. And that means I have a full 6 inch Red velvet cake in the freezer, for future enjoyment of our colleagues!
