Hi guys,
I've been meaning to write this post for weeks now, but I've been so busy with school, I just kept putting it off, and well, weeks have gone by. ;o)
First of all, I'm no longer an employee of Xenocast and thus by extension no longer working for FinerKitchens/Open Chute. This was by choice, I simply needed to move on and work on other types of projects. I really very much want to work on the design end of things and explore my creative side, and not so much operational/maintenance kind of things. I also needed a sabbatical anyway so that's what I'm doing at the moment (although with school it's not much of a sabbatical!).
However, when I left I told them that I would like to remain a part of the FinerKitchens forum and would continue to moderate the forum free of charge. So I'm not really going anywhere.
)
There was also the question of the much-anticipated new site. I expected it to be launched around Christmas-time but some other issues popped up and it never happened. Since then, my boss (ex-boss now, I guess) has found a better, more robust forum software and has decided to wait until this software moves out of the testing phase and is available to the general public. I have absolutely no time-frame for this, unfortunately.
When that does happen, I'm making myself available to work on it and make sure that the transition is smooth and it looks and works the way we all like it here at FinerKitchens. I can't promise that they'll take me up on that offer, but I'm quite confident that the Powers that Be understand that I have a good handle on how things should work and what needs to be done to make sure that all of your remain happy and stick around after the transition.
My sincere apologies to all my "testers" who rigorously tested the first test site that we set up. I don't think it was entirely in vain, as we learned a lot from you guys during that experience, but unfortunately, that particular site won't be used, and we're going to have to go through the whole process again! At least, I hope we will.
Lastly I'd like to thank those who PM and email me to let me know of problems in the forum. At the moment I'm not reading every thread, and so your vigilance is a great help to me and by extension a service to the whole community. Posting a "Reported" reply to the offending thread and then having that ONE person PM me works really well. ;o)
Even though I'm not posting much at the moment, I'm still around and I really very much care about this community. I just have little time right now to try out new recipes, make shopping lists, shop for new ingredients, etc. Right now I'm sticking to my quick and easy staples, but I am sure that will change at some point. Rick's "oh God, not another chicken breast" is my Bible. LOL. I've always been a foodie wannabe anyway and not a true died in the wool foodie. ;o)
