I think it was mighty cruel of them to eat apples during their chat with Commander Hadfield but I digress.

The whole idea of preparing food for space is fascinating.

Now, strangely, I want a burrito.

Now, I haven't tasted freeze dried food for YEARS, but I still can't think of this as yummy ...

Although maybe I should file it away for some future catastrophe smileys/smile.gif

It's fascinating how they have prepared food for space, they've learned a lot

since the Apollo missions.

I don't backpack any more, I prefer cushy car camping (!!) but I have heard that the dehydrated camping food has come a long way.

I've also had some MREs and they are surprisingly not bad. The beef stew was fine with adding Tabasco sauce. My uncle says he bought a bunch of them in case of an emergency and I'm thinking about doing the same for my earthquake kit that I really need to put together.
