A different take on Creme Brullee

I am sure it's doable.... could be fun to try, but I am a bit lazy sometimes smileys/wink.gif

Two different ways--just whiz up in a coffee mill or cook with some sugar, etc. The price to buy

is outrageous, IMO!! lol

They call it "paste", but it really seems very much like pistachio "butter". ;o)

yeah indeed....

... very pricey

I debated whether to get it, then on a moment of mental weakness, I caved.

I tell you one thing it is AWESOME. And I froze in small amounts, so I know it will come in handy. Or at least that's what I tell myself to feel better

;-0)))))

I am sure freezing is necessary to keep from getting rancid. I freeze my pistachios--

actually all nuts and seeds (poppy, especially).

Thanks Sally - researched and am excited to try the slow cooker

Both our new daughter and oldest love creme brûlée! We shared a chocolate version at Bonefish the other night with Ds - he was so pleased that Dh and I only had a bite or two of "his creme brûlée." Hopefully he will be tickled to receive a kitchen torch for Christmas smileys/wink.gif - younger son/daughter already have one and Dh uses his propane torch when he caramelizes ours. Colleen
