A friend wants an instant pot for her daughter. I looked back a the posts where everyone

Insta Pot seems to be the one that has the cult following

I have a Power Pressure Cooker XL which I got a good price on at Costco but they stopped carrying them right after Christmas. I use mine pretty regular and have had good results. Making beans is amazing by comparison to my old methods. Rice can be really easy but I get different results based upon the quality of the rice so I've been tweaking times and reducing water to get it just right.

I do have some pet peeves about it like the float release is pretty clumsy and for me at least I have to finesse it. This lady did a great and from my experience, very accurate review without being too positive or negative:

The brand is Instant Pot. Our kids LOVE theirs and use it constantly.

And particularly for rice. We gave it to them and gave them the "one step up' variety that can also make yogurt. Whether that is a good one for you will depend.
And they have used pressure cookers previously, etc. This is definitely better.

Sounds complicated. I'm sticking to my pots, pans, with lids, my wonderful Crock-Pot,

with the insert that cooks on the stove top, and my Cuisinart Griddler
I sold my expensive rice cooker, never could figure out all the buttons, beeps and all the adjustments for different rices, and mixed results. I do keep up with most technology for computers, cells, tablets, even then, it is a struggle.

Hi Cyn, I have 2, 6 qt. LOVE them, they are my go to for making dinner/sides.

Instant pot is a brand, which I have, and LOVE..... It's a game changer for me with cooking.....
