A friend wants to find a good crockpot cookbook. Anyone have favorite(s)?

I have a few of them; the one I seem to use most frequently is The Better Homes and Gardens Biggest

Book of Slow Cooker Recipes.

I know this may sound silly, but historically, I did not tend to use my crockpot cookbooks for inspiration. In other words, I did not wake up in the am, and use it as my go-to cookbook. I tended to decide what I was interested in making then try to find if it can be made in the crockpot. (I would then peruse all my crockpot cookbooks)

The BH&G cookbook does have some fun, inspirational and interesting recipes, on its own... Does that make sense?

Here's another that was a NY Times bestseller Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook

Feasting with your Slow Cooker by Dawn J Ranck and Phyllis Pellman Good.

This one reads kind of like a small town church cookbook in a way- several different versions of recipes, lots of down-home dishes. I've only tried a couple and they worked so I also recommend this book.

Pat, I'm so glad you asked this -- I ordered Mable Hoffman's book for 6 bucks on amazon just now!

Thanks, Cathy for the recommendation.

Thanks alot everyone for your help. Have passed the titles along to my friend. Her hubby has started

to cook, a pretty exciting thing in their household, and he has found he really likes crockpotting so she wants to surprise him with a couple of crockpot cookbooks to keep him going. I'm thrilled for them. I think it's pretty cool when someone in their 50s suddenly starts taking an interest in cooking.

Taking this opportunity to ask..isn't crockpot cooking the same as braising? How are they different?
