A hearthy smooch to scarlett and traca for recommending lecithin+ oil

to coat baking pans.

Holy Mother of Molded Pans, not one bit of cake stuck to this fru-fru molded 9" center-hole pan (which is probably a jello mold now that I think about it. Seems too light and too cheap cost-wise to be a fancy cake mold. It was another of my thrift shop finds. But boy, it made beautiful impressions on the cake.)

Ratio is 1 part lecithin to 2 parts neutral oil. I used canola.

Ask around....someone you know over the age of 50 will have a bottle of lecithin capsules sitting around that they forgot to take (ask me for some, I found 3 unopened bottles sitting in the bathroom closet).

Lecithin is supposed to help with memory loss. You can see how well it works with me. At least it did a great job releasing this cake.

Yes, I tried it to and it worked!! Sure was a pain punching holes in those capsules though smileys/smile.gif

"Holy Mother of Molded Pans"--LOL! I used to buy lecithin in bulk at the local coop. It was

granulated. Would that work, or do you need it finer?

Junebug...you need the liquid lethicin. It works as a lubricant and keeps baked goods from sticking

YAY! Marilyn...that stuff is like liquid gold, eh? By the way...

back in the day, I used to post (very irregularly) as scarlett. Then I fell off the radar and forgot I was even registered! So I registered again under my own name, Traca. LOL!

Would scissors work? Just snip the top of the capsule? Something makes me think

it's also available in a liquid non-capsule form too. My friend who gave me some is NOT the patient type. No-stick wonder or not, there's no way she'd empty capsules for this kind of thing. So I'm thinking she found it somewhere in a bottle.

I guess there must be liquid stuff somewhere... I had the capsules so made small batch to try.
