A question about avocados... I usually buy the smaller, dark-skinned

ones (Hass), but recently bought a larger, lighter-green one. It has no taste! Did I just get a bad one, or are these larger ones (maybe Bacon?) not known for their flavor like the Hass are?

Thanks.

A Fuerte perhaps...no, the flavor nor the texture are quite the same.

These are more watery, will moosh up more chunky, and ripen slightly differently. We get them seasonally...when Haas are out of season. They're ok as a garnish, but your guacamole will come out a little differently.

Could be, but I went back to the store and read the label it said

that it was a "Slimcado" - it has half the fat as a regular avocado and 35% less calories. I have no idea how they did it, but ughhh, I wouldn't recommend it.

Didn't know they had a special name. I've always called them Florida Avocados and avoided them

due to lack of flavor.
