A slick picnic display & drink recipes from Publix Grape magazine

Do you mean the blackberry pie? After searching everywhere and registering with Publix, it turns

out they MAIL this booklet to you or you can pick it up in the store. They aren't posting the recipes online.

I'd be happy to write it out for you.

Or, if you think you like all of the recipes, I can pick up an extra copy and mail one out to you.

Sorry, yes, the blackberry one. No need to go to any trouble, Marilyn--just a question...

(Thank you for the offer to write out the recipe or send it, though!) It looks like it's the kind of dessert where you thaw ice cream a little, spread it on a cookie crust, top with blackberries, and then re-freeze. Is that the general idea?

I don't even have enough room in the freezer to attempt this, so no need to write it out--I was just curious. smileys/wink.gif

Yes, that's it exactly. Ice cream blended with whipped topping, swirled with

blackberries pureed with Chambord-type liquor or brandy.

It sounds like it would also work as a parfait.

This is, of course, assuming you can find blackberries that have any taste. I've seen beautiful ones, but haven't had a tasty one since picking them on the roadside while camping at Kinzua Dam in PA.

Ok, that sounds amazing, really. I'm going to try it for my parents' anniversary.

Sounds like a cool and hassle-free dessert. Also, you had me at "Chambord." smileys/wink.gif

(Plus, there's bound to be more room in the condo freezer than in mine.)

Thanks for the inspiration!

Also, I have to thank you--

In the hopes of attempting this here, I inventoried our freezer today and threw out a bunch of shriveled stuff. Still not enough room for an ice cream dessert, BUT I did find a frozen homemade biscuit, which I just thawed, toasted, and had with apricot jam and coffee.

So thank you for my midafternoon pick-me-up, Marilyn! smileys/smile.gif
