I was idly looking through the mags at the supermarket a week or so ago and saw the following pud...I did not take note of which mag it was nor did I write down the quantities but of course I wanted to try it.....so this is what I did (It is so good served in a wee glass with a wee spoon as it is rich.
I have some dried chipotle chilies in the freezer but the recipe asked for those in adobe sauce which I don't have so I julienned a chili and soaked it in a little Mount Gay Rum
I used 3 punnets of blackberries and squished them through a sieve with a little sugar.
I stirred together the resulting juice with the soaked chili, discarding the rum juice (I used this in a pork dish).
I whipped up fresh cream with sugar and a tsp of vanilla essence. I swirled a little together and found the chili did not really make much impression and there was not a very rounded taste - I felt this was because the chili was not from the adobe sauce.
I then took a big gulp and added almost 1/2 of a jar of my chili choc powder to the juice. (I love this but cant get it here anymore)
Tasting a little I knew I had hit on the perfect mix....
To serve; I melted some of the choc Mar sent with a bit of butter and cream and topped the fool with a drizzle of this and a couple of blackberries as garnish.
This is so good, so surprisingly good. If anyone can find the original recipe please post it.
Yum, I am making it for a house party this week end again.
