About Non-UP heavy cream thread above: TJ's sells a heavy organic cream. . .

by the pint that is worlds above their regular heavy cream. I do not know if the Organic Heavy Cream is UP or not.

Their regular heavy cream has a thickener (carageenan). The Organic does not have any thickeners. The organic is VERY Thick, and I had to use a spatula to scrape the stuff off of the sides of the carton. The regular just cannot match up to the organic, taste or texture-wise.

Geeze, if it is supposed to be heavy cream, why should a thickener be needed?

And it was great in those heavy cream scalloped potatoes I posted a link to above, the White on Rice Couple's recipe.

 
That's what this stuff was like...I opened the entire top and scrapped all the sides of the carton

to make sure I didn't miss any of the really thick stuff.

Scone dough is in the freezer, waiting to be baked. Dried apricots, pistachio, fresh thyme & a boatload of fat.
