Adventures with Chocolate Fruit Balls

I made the recipe as written. Made the tiny balls and refrigerated them; they were quite sticky. Melted the chocolate, speared a ball and tried to dip the fruit ball. The chocolate was too thick and the ball fell apart. Grrrrrrr! Added more butter to the chocolate which didn't help. What to do? What to do?

Do I throw out the filling and keep the chocolate for some other use? No...................

I have spent the last hour dropping small amounts of chocolate on a parchment lined cookie sheet and then adding a ball to each blob. I have carefully covered each ball with chocolate using a knife. 50% are done.

Back to the kitchen to my labour of love.

Sylvia, how did your fruit balls turn out?

These sound good, but I don't want to be finely chopping chocolate for them. Would you make these again?

They turned out fine....good flavour. Because the chocolate was so thick the

chocolates are very chocolatey..........but that's not a problem. I think the secret is to melt smaller amounts of chocolate at a time....maybe 4 oz.

Dawn, thanks for asking.
