After the long discussion on honey I had to post this. I take a neighbor to the dialysis center

three times a week. I was there today and listening (ok eavesdropping) to the patient and dr. discussion in the next cubicle. The dr. was scolding the diabetic patient for not letting him know that the patient's feet had become ulcerated. The nurse asked if the dr. wanted some antibiotic ointment to spread on the patient's feet. The dr. then asked if staff had any honey in the frig! Said it would be much better on the ulcers until the pt. could get an appointment at the wound care center. Amazing!

I've been ordering organic whipped honey from a local farmer since November...take a spoonful each day...haven't been sick since November. smileys/smile.gif
The honey tastes incredible--light and not overly sweet. It looks like a silk scarf in a jar!

I have also been told that it helps with allergies...

you have to buy local honey in order for it to help build up immunities.

I have read this too. I only buy local honey now. I encourage everyone to find their local honey

growers association and find the local stuff. It's so good. Every state/county must have honey producers if we have them all the way up here. Disappearing honey bee colonies have been in the news today. A great concern to growers of produce/fruit all over the country. It was on the Today Show this morning.

Nothing like a cup of hot lemon and honey for a sore throat, too. My brother keeps bees

to pollinate his fruit. He usually gives me honey for Christmas and my birthday. I don't think he knows what a great gift it is.
