Hi y'all,

I've spoken with Paul, and he's wicked busy, so consolidating requests for him.

Please post ongoing in this 1 thread with all current issues or questions with the Recipe Swap or new Eat.At beta sites so they're all in one place. Please don't post links to a previous post as not all can access. I apologize if this requires a reposting - copy/paste is your friend!

I've been out of town/offline and am behind on postings so am starting a fresh thread at Eat.At Recipe Swap, NotGailsSwap50, and Y! Eat.At to ensure not to miss anything/anyone.

Then, I'll compile your issues/questions for Paul from all sites...

...and consolidate answers, but please remember both the sites aren't yet fully cooked (ha -recipe humor!) so answers/login problems/etc. might not be a quick fix, so please be patient. Some things require work on the site before issues can be addressed.

FOR ANY ISSUES: please share any error codes and what web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.) you are using and what version it is (found in the "about" info of your browser). This is important, as different browsers all have separate ways of doing things. For example I'm viewing this post using: Firefox, version 3.6.21.

If you have Swap login issues, sorry that might be on me - not sure. I compiled a database of former Swap User Names for the updated Swap, mostly from memory, so some swap names may have slipped my mind or how you had it formatted (like spelling, underscore or something) I might've gotten wrong, so please let me know.

New site recognizes my user name but not my password (I guess)

When I ask to send new activation codes it says it is sent but I don't get the email. (I've checked mail, iffy mail folder and known spam folder). I use Safari. When I try to create new account it says Melissa Dallas is already taken, so it knows I'm in there somewhere!

 
Have you tried creating a new account with a different email?

When we started testing the site Paul mentioned the syncing problems between the Swap format and new Eat.At so suggested I register and login in using a different email address than the one I used to register for the Swap as a test account.

I was able to register/login doing that. Then I was able to change my user name in my profile to the old MariaDNoCA name I'd always used, so ultimately it doesn't bother me I login different.

Have you tried this?

 
Can the name and username be the same? It asks for both, and I use my real name here as my username

 
Try it...my "user name" is the test name I created...

So I'm guessing that might be what I did. (Sorry don't recall exactly.)

Now when I login I use my test name I created, but once I logged in the first time, went to my profile, it has a space for "User Name" and "Your Name."

I kept the user name the same as the tester one I created to login (still use it to login) but I added/changed the box that said "Your Name" to my old MariadNoCa name, saved the page - and poof, I was in business. As far as I know everyone sees my online name as MariadNoCa there now for all postings.

 
Just tried it - It says "Username 'Meryl' is taken. Please choose a different username."

 
And when I try to login with my username, Meryl, I get the following message:

"Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet."

I'm using the same password I've always used.

 
Try using seperate, new user name...

maybe I didn't explain it well but I didn't try to use my mariadnoca name as my user name.

I created a whole new user name to register/log into the site. After I got in I was able to go into my profile and enter the name I wanted (mariadnoca) under "your name" not user name. My user name is still my made up new name but once I added the name I wanted in the "Your Name" in my profile folks see that name. I expect your name "Meryl" is on hold for you when things sync, but right now they don't so need to do something completely different.

(Maybe this will all change if/when things sync up between sites and we can then login with our Swap info using those names, but for now using something completely different to register/login is working so far for me.)

 
Still can't log in

I only use two different log-ins and passwords and neither work. I get the message log in and password don't match.
