All this BBQ talk had me thinking it is time for a BBQ sauce thread. What is your favorite?

My favorite go to is Yoshida's. I added some orange zest and juice last weekend. yum. easy.

Here is one of my favorites. I use it as a base for variations. REC: Alice's BBQ Sauce

Here is the small batch version, which does not have to be canned, and then the larger version, which I use a #10 can of Heinz Ketchup that you can get at any wholesale club, and even most grocery stores have them. I make the big batch and then divide it into smaller batches, by adding chipotle in adobo to or chopped pickled jalapenos or habeneros, etc. However you want to flavor it. I have used fresh onions and the flavor just wasn't the same as the dried onions, so I always use the dried now.

Rec: Barbecue Sauce. Several years ago Consumer Reports reviewed bbq sauces and came up with this

as an alternative when they didn't find one they really liked. I like it better than most bottled sauces and I know what's in it.

Barbecue Sauce from Consumer Reports

It yields about 2 cups sauce and takes about 30 minutes to prepare.

1 teaspoon crushed garlic (2-3 cloves)
3/4 cup white vinegar
1 six-ounce can tomato paste
1/4 cup dark molasses
1/4 cup light molasses
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons orange marmalade
1-1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 t. black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 small bay leaf
1 tablespoon liquid smoke

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine all ingredients except liquid smoke. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add liquid smoke. Stir.
