I find these fruit a bit tart. They are very pretty used as thin slices as a garnish but that is not something one does everyday...garnish!

I have lost a guava tree and a couple of banana palms (as well as a few other plant) in the prolonged dry spell we have had but strangly this tree is producing so much fruit!

Thanks Mar, there are many ex-pats but at the moment there is an abundance of this fruit...I can't

give it away.
I freeze the juice of the granadilla (passion fruit) by the bagfull and the little bananas, bottle the guavas now and then but this fruit stumps me.
Thanks again

Great link Marilyn. There sure isn't much info, did a search and mostly listed salads and garnishes.

Here is a link to a salad that looks nice, but alas, only uses one.

One link mentioned chutneys and jams, but did not give recipes.

I'm thinking salsa? Or maybe to top a tart with a thin glaze to sweeten it up a bit? Should work in recipes that use kiwi or strawberries--thinking the textures??

The only we get here have come a long way and are pretty bland, so usually used as a ganish for fruit salads.

Nan, I so wish I lived nearer everyone with all that I have to share...

I dont know if I have time to do anything before I go away for 2 months so am going to try freezing some fruit, like I do with the granadillas. I hope that freezing is OK as I look forward to making some of these delicious recipes.

Well, I buy frozen mango, peaches, apples, and all kinds of berries, I bet it will be fine.

I think they'll freeze well after they're sliced. as for the sour taste, maybe you're

picking too soon? I always find them to be bitter in the stores but when I lived in FL and picked them fresh, and ripe, they were wonderful.
