An old friend is trying to get into the Swap but can't remember his log-in info. Suggestions?

I'm not sure who is running this board, but I belive there was a message posted that said if you

could not recall your old log on to contact the administrator.

There are prompts for that on the main eat.at page....

I was going to say email Paul using the contact button at the bottom of the page, but it doesn't seem to be working right now.

We tried to reset up everyone's user name and password, but that only went as far as my memory so I'm sure I missed some folks.

Try the prompts on the main page for forgotten user name/password, in the right margin. I expect that will auto respond or contact Paul. If need be, try PMing me and I can email Paul/Mimi.

List of names doesn't list the old password. I think Paul's in a Turkish prison somewhere, "contact"

button takes you to a personal chef page called Xenocloud. No Paul there. We're ORPHANS!

What about searching recent posts for whinecountry and mimi and sending PM w/ only a subject line

Are we just floating out there in cyberspace? No one has contact with

those who are supposedly getting us up and running? Weren't some helping to test the new site, that has all the bells and whistles, that would bring us up into the modern century? Shouldn't Paul be easily contacted there? So am I right here that as things start falling apart (PM's for example) they just won't be fixed until this wonderful site that we all love and enjoy so much will just become useless? sigh

Updates are the result of skills and time donated by folks who have full-time gigs...

...hence the "Buy Paul coffee" button. smileys/wink.gif

As I see it--and by this I mean no offense to Maria et al. who set up the stopgap Yahoo group--this is a return to the Golden Age of the Swap (or at least the Swap format as I knew it, as a latecomer), much more familiar, and much easier to work with, than the Yahoo list. Moreover, it's free. So I can't get too upset. smileys/smile.gif

Oh I know Erin. I get it, but that "button" has been out there for a very

long time and I know many have stepped up. For what? Nothing ever seems to happen even though it has been made clear that all of us would be more than willing to pay a reasonable amount to keep it going. I know many got shopping bags and aprons emblazoned with the "logo" as a thank you for the contributions. What did that cost? As to sweet Maria keeping us together with the Yahoo it reminds me of when we were in Jeddah and they cut our water use to only certain times a day. This went on for a very long time and we all learned to plan our day well around the water times. I remember very clearly a Chinese American friend saying..."They have us trained very well". So much truth then as I'm starting to feel here as well.

Forgive my morning lack of humor, but it's not a drought and it's not a Chinese gulag. Eat, drink,

be merry.
