DH said "If you really want to send them a cookie they'll love send them the chocolate wafer ones without the filling." I made them with 1 cup of sugar, a bit larger, and after I dampened my hands and pressed down I sprinkled with coarse sugar. Pretty, crispy and (as usual with the recipes you post) delicious!
