Angie, I made a couple of the Cranberry-Almond Wreaths. I hope this will get you in the spirit!

woohoo! I baked 2 yesterday. not as pretty as your's, but they will do nicely. also cranked out

cranberry bliss bars. tonight it will be cookie baking night. CathyZ's Mom's oatmeal cookies(dough already made and in the fridge) and some cinnamon shortbread type molded cookies. yay. got some packages sent off and some cards too.

your opinion please: did you think the filling needed to be so fussy? I was thinking of next time

just spreading with butter and sprinkling on the other stuff like normal cinnamon roll building. I know the flour helps keep it from oozing, but not sure the goopy mess was really what I want to work with next time. I found it really hard to spread around.

I used my hands to drop chunks of the filling onto the rolled-out dough. I went back through...

...with buttered fingers and separated the bigger pieces of filling and spread them out a bit. I ended up working out okay.

I did re-heat the wreaths at 350º F for about 10 minutes. I brushed on a cardamom-rum icing and served it.

The family loved it!

The rum-soaked, dried bing cherries worked really well with the almonds in the filling.

The dried blueberris with cranberries were very nice too. I think a simple braid would be nice
