if you won't be home, have someone retrieve it and open it up.

It's a care package to make Sandra's (in USA-then-London-wow-CordonBleu!-now-Australia) Chiles Verdes and includes--Postal Inspection God, Forgive Me--fresh cilantro along with fresh Anaheim chiles and tomatillos. I mailed it out 20 minutes ago and suddenly began envisioning the box oozing and seeping green and USPS employees surrounding it with a SWAT team, hound dogs and warm tortilla chips.

Everything is wrapped and bagged, but you are--after all--5 time zones away. Who knows what shape the box and its contents will be in by then.

I don't know what gets into me at times. This idea sounded SO logical at 3:45 a.m.

no worries Marilyn... It 's still near freezing at night and barely above 50 during the day and we

have an outside metal mailbox. Please sleep well now. And, (((((THANK YOU))))). I think it's perfectly fine to send fresh produce to Alaska---we are still part of the US and we have no special agricultural taboos up here. If some creepy crawly from down south could survive up here, then more power to it!!

Oh Marilyn, what a dull day it would be if I couldn't read at least one

of your postings each day - I just love to read them. When is that book coming out?!!

OLE' OLE'. Pkg arrived and is A OK---all but the poor cilantro. such a delicate herb.

Now I must scurry over to Costco for a nice chunk of meat for the machaca.

SMOOCHES TO YOU MARILYN!
