These almond cookies are a specialty of Siena and I fondly remember buying some and then munching happily as I strolled the narrow streets of the town.

This version is posted by Judy Witts Francini in her Divina Cucina blog.

I used pure almond extract and did not need any additional almond flour.

For the 2 tablespoons of flour, I used Bob's Red Mill Gluten-Free all-purpose flour mix so that the cookies would be gluten free.

You probably won't need more than 1/2 cup of powdered sugar for coating the cookies.
