another question on Richard's Key Lime Dip: Does it have to be in a shallow

bowl to harden/thicken properly?

Right now I have it in a tupperware that 4" high on a square and it's filled to the top. After reading the directions, I wondered if the cream cheese will firm up since it is so deep. I put it in this container to transport to work on Thursday, but will move it to a shallower dish if required.

Thanks

(geez, two questions on a dip. I'm losing my touch. But I don't have time to redo boo-boos.)

Oh, Mar... It's a delectable dip... You are thinking far too hard on this. Your engineering

colleagues are going to enjoy! Don't tell anyone, but when I made mine this past weekend; I used the rectangle plastic containers from my chinese take outs. (Obviously, I cleaned them!). They were the perfect shape to fit in my larger pretty platter that had the graham crackers. No one noticed the container; and it worked! I think shallower is better cause you can scoop; and get the berries / dip.... But, either way it will work!

I am excited to hear how you dressed the dip up... Berries? coconut? Whipped cream?

It will be enjoyed and devoured!

Have fun!

Ya, you're right. It's just...this isn't for me or my group. So I don't want to turn over a failure.

From what I can tell, it looks firmer, even in the deeper container. I'll bring in heavy cream and stick blender and whip up the cream tomorrow. I'm putting blueberries (engineer is having a Baby Boy going-away party) on the mini-cheesecakes, so the remainder of the fruit will go on top of the dip. I'm bringing in my Pi plate for serving...it's shallow.

I'm getting compliments and requests for recipe AS WE SPEAK.

I whipped up the heavy cream at 5:00 AM this morning and got over-zealous. It's a bit too firm, but I don't think that stopped anyone. Pour fresh blueberries over that and served with graham, gingersnaps & Nilla wafers.

Well, I say I served, but all I did was set it out and left the conference room. It's not my group. Also made a tray of mini-cheesecakes with pecan crust, lemon cheesecake, raspberry topping and a fresh blueberry (for a baby boy). Those were good too.

I brought the Nellie & Joe keylime bottle into work and passed out 1/4C servings to 3 guys to make it themselves.

YAY!! I knew it would be a hit; especially in this heat! You really went all out w/ the

cheesecakes, etc. And that wasn't your department? They must have done a very big good deed for you to go through all of that trouble; or are a very special group!

I am glad it worked out so well
