I often encounter this one and ponder over it. Maybe it has something to do with being lousy at math in high school ...
"Add the dry ingredients and the buttermilk alternately. Begin and end with the dry ingredients in three additions."
Now, does that mean three additions altogether -- half the dry stuff, all the buttermilk, then the other half of the dry stuff? Or does it mean the dry stuff is added in three additions (and therefore the buttermilk in two) for a total of five additions?
It probably doesn't make much difference to the recipe, but just wondering ... NIce-sounding recipe, I'll have to try it. I've encountered this website before but didn't know she was in Toronto.
