Anoyne need some NONedible gold flakes? I have about 50 gm. that I can send you.

I don't think it's drive so much as a brain that's forgetting last year's foray into gingerbread *g*

I think she skipped last year. so the trauma is forgotton by now, kinda like childbirth, I hear.

Yeah Mar....I am excited to hear about the adventure!! I can hear your acceptance speech now...I

would like to thank Marg for the gold flakes,, etc, etc..

Will keep you informed. We're organizing a "gingerbread challenge" at work

Apparently last year's hallway "can't do no stinking raffle so it's a silent auction for the GBH" display was inspiring because two organizations wanted to do a GBH contest this year. We're combining forces and our Diversity Council is donating the prizes. They buy cool things like I-Pods, so that will be great.

Contest categories:

1st category: Everyone uses a pre-baked Wilton kit "to level the playing field" and decorates from there, so long as all ingredients are 100% food product and end product is no bigger than a 16" cake board. I bought 25 kits at JoAnns last night so the first 25 people to sign up get the kit free. I thought that would inspire folks to join in on the fun and ensure a good turn-out.

2nd category: "Inventiveness Rules"....the structure can be anything so long as "most" of it is gingerbread or graham crackers. This is to interest young, male engineers who wouldn't know an oven if it bit them. I suggested an ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) rack made of graham crackers and gumdrops for LED lights. Non-food structural support can be used so long as it isn't visible. Lights must be battery-operated and size is limited to 2'x2'x2'.

Another baker and myself will do a "lunch and learn" GBH workshop for novices. I plan to not only show them "what to do"...but also "what NOT to do" 'cause I have the photos to back that up.

Geez, this does sound kind of insane, huh.

I'm thinking about making a big GB doghouse as a gift for my doctor since she lost out on winning last year's house. She can use it for a SPCA fundraiser.

PS: I emphatically refused to do anything with "raffling off the houses to raise money for Toys for Tots". No one at the meeting believed me about last year's legal debaucle. I may need to dig up old emails to prove my point.
