Any advice for cooking in a tiny crockpot? I was just given one

(well, actually inheirited it from my aunts belonging's) - and there are no instructions, times, etc.

I'd say it's probably a 1-qt one, and I am not sure about cooking times or what recipes I can adjust so that the food fits inside of it... it's so tiny (and cute!). Thanks.

I use mine for dips and sauces and choc fondue. Haven't tried a regular entry, but good idea for

cooking for just 1 or 2. I think it would work fine to cook up some chicken thighs or other parts, probably boneless for a better fit. I would want to know if it's set for just a very low simmer, or is chicken or meat OK in it?

Well, actually...

it's only got a HI setting. I made beef stew in it the other day, and it worked out fine. I keep buring my fingers on the metal ring, however, because I'm not used to the removable crock, with the metal heater part. Ouch. You'd think they could've designed it a little better.

Also no off/on setting, it's just "on" when you plug it in. Luckily I was right with it until I put the food in it, and there was no problem, but there could've been!

If you knew how appropriate the reference to chocolate fodue is, you'd laugh. My aunt passed away recently (that's how I got the crockpot) and she LOOOOOOOVED chocolate. Only second to Meryl, I think!)

Hi Dawn, Sorry about your Aunt....My Mom has one of the small crockpots and uses at each holiday

for either meatballs with cranberry/grape sauce. (Sometimes she adds horseradish.) Alternatively, she has used it for those mini hotdogs with a barbeque sauce. Funny, how despite what is on the appetizer table, they always seem to be enjoyed by all!! Not sure if it is the comfort food thing, or the tradition of my mom making them, but there are very few leftovers....

Enjoy it, when you use it, reflect on the fun loving recipes that your Aunt made in it!

Regards,
Barb
