dried cranberry but not as sweet. I was going to toss some in muffins but they're really hard. Soaked a few to try and they get kind of mushy. What do you folks do?

 
I think they'd be ok in couscous (along with currants, nuts, etc.) added at the end of steaming..

 
Well! That tells you they should do just fine in recipes without coming out like shotgun pellets!
