Any recommendations in Cape May NJ--so much to choose from

Oh Charlie, you're talking my favorite place "down the shore" lol. I've stayed

a couple of times at the Colton Court Motor Inn in a two room suite with kitchen on the second floor on the end facing the ocean. My last visit was in October, 2007 for a long weekend. It's right across from the beach and within walking distance of the promenade shops and restaurants. It's clean and the manager, a Hungarian woman, is very nice. There's an Acme not far if you want to go food shopping. I think it's a great bargain in that you can have your breakfast and take some sandwiches to the beach across the street, and go out to dinner with some midnight munchies left in the fridge for when you come back. There's small chairs and tables for you to sit outside on the balcony and watch the horse carriage go by.

Also on Beach Avenue, I've stayed at The Sandpiper Beach Club. See Image Link and scroll down for photos, etc.

Not to be missed is the Lobster House for lunch, dinner, or seafood shop. The Whale's Tale is my favorite gift shop filled with shells, toys, books, and some really cool things.

There's also a very informal restaurant at the southern end of Beach Avenue where you can walk to. (Can't remember the name) It's a BYOB and the food was good and inexpensive last I remember. That end of the beach is beautiful with a large jetty across the street and miles of beautiful beach to meander. It's an ideal spot for the sunset.

Charlie, if I can think of anything else, I'll add to here. Shoot me some more questions if you want.

Actually Sandy, I'm there now. Staying at the Le Mer hotel facing the ocean. I've

been a visitor here a number of times the last few years, so I know the area quite well.

Things change so frequently here that I thought I'd ask if anyone has experienced a new restaurant or activity.

We have reservations at The Black Duck and will try to get into Louisa's.

Sandy beat me to it . . .

I was in Cape May a couple of years ago on business (if you can believe). I was going to recommend the Lobster House, if that's the same big restaurant on the way into town. GREAT crabcakes.

Oooh, you lucky dog! That's the new hotel. I've looked at their website some time

ago.

There's a nice patio restaurant at Congress Hall but reservations are recommended. Edited to say, the Blue Pig Tavern. We couldn't get seated but ended up having delicious appetizers and drinks at the front of the hotel. The menu looked very good.

Here's a couple of seafood restaurants I've enjoyed at link and Image link.

One of the things I love to do in Cape May is weave through the streets and marvel at the Victorian homes.

When I fly back north one day, I'd love to visit Cape May again.

Wishing you loads of fun during your stay Charlie.

Blackfish in Stone Harbor...

It's about a 10 minute ride back north on the parkway - well worth it - his original restaurant is in Conshohocken and the Stone harbor one is an offshoot - excellent food and service and nice room - it used to be Henny's if you remember that!

here is the website:
