Any word on Pat in Bastrop....was just wondering.

Last I heard they were just getting access to sift through the site

They were out of the hotel and house-sitting for friends for a month. So not settled yet at all. I know she got our group package though. I'll email her -- she has limited PC access so I'm sure that has something to do with it -- and being overwhelmed with everyday things too I'm sure.

She just replied to my email -- here is her note (I'll send her all your replies)

Hi maria! I cant access the swap on my android. It made me so happy to see your email I miss you all so much! We are subletting the very elegant one bedroom garage apt of a friend who has taken off in their rv for parts east. This is so helpful as we can be in Bastrop while we clear the rubble - steel roofing, general debris and concrete to prepare the land for sale. There are many trees to remove too. Our entire street, with the exception of one house was destroyed the first day of the fire. I have good days and not so good days. The darker ones are made brighter by thoughts of all the love and kindness from you all. I have some photos to share with you when I get them organized.
Our next hurdle is to decide where to go! With 1,600+ homes destroyed, even Austin has few possibilities.

Maria, thank you so much for posting this. I think about her everyday and wonder

how she is doing and how one copes with such a challenge.

I have been wondering about her, as well....

I think they are smart, and so fortunate to be able to even think about moving out of the area. So many folks don't have that option and have to rebuild on the same site. Texas is having such a terrible time with the drought. I hope they have some rain this winter, but not so much that it floods everything.

Wow, that's incredible, it's like the whole town is gone.

I hope Pat finds a nice place to land. Please tell her hello and that I'm thinking of her and hope she is hanging in there. Does she need anything right now?

Yes, thanks for passing that along, but could you pls PM me her email address? No sense making more

work for and and have you be the one to forward our replies to her. If we had her contact info, we could reply to her directly. Thanks.

Falling down on the job here--I'm a Facebook failure. Happy Birthday Anyway!!!!!

Talk about falling down. This was intended for Michael, one post above. I hope Pat doesn't see this.
