Anybody have the Silver Spoon cookbook? How do you like it?nt

I have this book and it is wonderful. I got it at Costco quite some (m)

time ago. I found the recipes very easy to follow and so far what I have made is delicious.

There is a blogger who is going thru the recipes in this book ...

much like Julie /Julia (well really not anything like it but it is very interesting because she reveiws the recipes and rates them). I must admit I haven't been keeping up with the blog recently, but it might give you an idea about the recipes and whether you might enjoy the book..I have it but haven't made anything yet(no fault of the book-had recent rt.shoulder sx so have been rather simplifying my cooking ! Not sure what Costco's price is (if it is still available thru them) but ecookbook.com(Jessica's Biscuit) has it for $23.97. Just came across it in there paper catalogue and verified online, if you are interested...Steph

question about recipes

I looked this book over in the bookstore and thought that the recipes could be rather vague both in terms of ingredients and steps. So I wasn't sure if the recipes, though they sounded ok, would always work out too well. Did you find this to be a problem at all?
cheers, Bonnie

Being Italian/European, it assumes ...

a certain amount of familiarity with the kitchen, unlike North American cookbooks, which often are written as though the cook has never cooked before. Therefore there might be some confusion, and some inconsistency in results. But of the recipes I've tried, all have worked out well, they feel authentic, and I like this book more than I thought I would.
