Anyone have a grill pan they love?

On a great deal, I bought a Martha Stewart Collector's Enameled Cast Iron 11" Grill Pan, which has great reviews. But I don't know. Will I get use out of it? What do you make/do with yours? Colleen

A good friend of mine loves hers. I think it is le cruiset. She has 3 picky eaters, and enjoys

making burgers in the cold, likes chicken breast, and the kids enjoy seeing the seared marks.

I am always up for trying new things in the kitchen, but I have not found a place for this in ours. Again, my friend LOVES hers.....

But, I still can't find a place for a vitamix, either.

Not sure if this helped! : )

I too had a le cruset. I never could get it clean and it always smoked when I preheated it. Not my

favorite pan. I gave it to our church rummage sale. I have a small enameled le cruset frying pan that I use for a couple of lamb chops or a hamburger.

Colleen - a thousand apologies

for me not being in touch since last we met to lunch.

My mom's Parkinson syndrome and dementia took a big turn for the worse in May and all summer I split time with my sisters in helping caring for her in Ann Arbor. Thankfully my dad is adamant about keeping her at home and we are all doing whatever it takes.

They were able to go to Florida this year only because a(n angel of a) woman went to Florida w/ my parents and my father was able to rent her a condo in their development; a 5 min. walk from them. This lovely lady took care of Jerry's father during his last few months with cancer and couldn't have been more caring or supportive (she and a partner run a home health company). I've been going out there every 3 weeks, sometimes even closer together. My sister is there now, just happened to be there when my mom had to be admitted to the hospital with the flu and she was able to spend the nights with her.

Know that I think of you and smile when I see your posts!

I have tried two grill pans, and hated the mess of the fine grease splatter all over my stove

We grill outdoors under a covered patio on a gas fired (too big) grill that my husband bought. It has a hood above to suck up the smoke. I keep thinking how nice it would be to just do a quick grill inside myself, but the mess is too much. Even the non-stick grill pan I have still splatters the little fat that is on the meat, or even the juices from it. I have a Cuisinart Griddler which I love and make panini sandwiches, pancakes, etc. The grill plates are reversible, and there is no splatter from it.
