the store didn't carry the toaster. The one I'm interested in is the regular two slot, stainless one. I don't even know the price.

I have an older model Kitchenaid Toaster - it's at least 8 years old...
I've been pleased with it and we use it all the time. Check the reviews on amazon or epinons and see what people say about the model you're looking at. Good luck!

Ack - I just saw this. I have one, and while I wouldn't buy one again, it's only because
I don't think the extra $$ is worth the results. I have the basic two-slot model, it was a gift.
I do like the "Warm" function, since I love to butter the warm toast and re-warm it right before eating. That feature has saved many a burnt piece of toast!
It also has a "Bagel" function, but I never use it, since I like both sides of the bagel toasted.
