Anyone have an idea of what I am growing????

I know this is a silly question but I'd hate to poision my family.

I gave a number of seed packets to the gardener to plant...strict instructions to plant them in rows.

I have been so involved with things and the weather is getting hotter so I thought as he loves to plant things (all things we can't or don't eat like ornamental corn etc) I would give him the wonderful chance of seeing things grow....well, he scattered all the seeds in a mix and said he couldn't put up the packets, as I do at the end of the rows etc...he threw them away.

The most unusual things are coming up...

1) A long leaf that is jaggered but is not arugula, it has a white stem, is a soft green leaning more to yellow than deep green...I have an idea it is "mizune" but never having eaten or grown it, can't be sure

2) A round leaf with many cog like indentations, this leaf is silver-grey and is on the end of a purplish stalk.

3) A long full leaf a bit like a mustard India leaf but it has no prickly bumps on the back and is a longer sort of leaf.

4) I seem to have 2 kinds of mustard India leaf one is redish, the other green...I've not seen the redish one before!

AND not a single bean has come up although we have done about 4 plantings at 1 week intervals of the yard long asian bean and the lima been...I've never ever not had a bean come up!

Also, how does one eat/cook mizune???

Thanks if any one can help

Here's a pic of the mizuna...

It's commonly used in a Japanese New Year's Day soup called ozoni. The soup is a simple chicken broth-y thing, with broiled pieces of mochi (glutinous rice ball things), and the mizuma is simmered briefly.

I've only used it for that soup, and here, it's sold only during New Year's.

But I've heard if it being used raw, in salads, or deep fried with a batter, like tempura.

Hope this helps!
