Anyone have the Cuisinart Griddler? I want one BAD and FK is considering adding it to the lineup.

I "know" a couple of people that have it and absolutely

love it. I think it has to be the best featured of that sort on the market. It was reviewed somewhere and given high marks. The price is a bit up there, but it is much more versatile than other "griddlers". I got my panini maker at a terrific price and like it but it doesn't open out flat like this one will--just sandwiches or grilled open faced sandwiches (Breville).

I have one and just love it. Was looking for a panini grill primarily but

none of the ones I considered were rated as well as the Cuisinart Griddler. While I use it primarily for paninis, I love it for its versatility. It's basically a 4 in 1 unit with a floating hinge and two sets of cooking plates which turns it into a panini press, contact grill, griddle or large open grill.

I love my Griddler.......

I got mine from Amazon, as well. It arrived in just a few days. I make panini, grill veggies, meats, do veggies and chicken breasts at the same time for fajitas. Eggs, bacon, you can do it all on this clever appliance. Easy to clean, too.

I have one

I like it after I got used to the fact that the thermastat is not accurate. I sent the first one back, but this one is the same. So I have adjusted my cooking time.

Later, I saw an ad for a similar appliance, but instead of just grill and griddle plates, it also had plates for waffles and pizzelle (aka krumkaka). The price was about $50.

I have a GE waffle iron/grill from 1972

that is much like this griddler. The plates are reversible so you can make waffles or grilled sandwiches on it. My goodness - that thing still works, too! Heavy chrome and opens flat so you can grill on it as well. GE was WAY ahead of it's time! My mother bought me one after buying herself one and then bought one for everyone she needed to buy a gift for in the next several years! Wonder if anyone else still has theirs. smileys/smile.gif
I need to dig mine out. It's in storage.

Just used it last week...

...a 1974 wedding gift and still going strong. So's the marriage BTW smileys/smile.gif

I have one of those also but think it is much different from

the Cuisinart Griddler or even the newer panini makers. I have made great grilled sandwiches on it (even mini-reubens on cocktail pumpernickel for a party) but I don't believe I would be able to grill a steak on it, for example. And for a big panini on French bread, my panini maker raises up further so the sandwich isn't squished.
I actually purchased one of these for our daughter in the past 5 years. Still on the market.
