Anyone here subscribe to Fine Cooking on line? I'm so frustrated with their new search feature, I

can't find recipes I know are there and they no longer give me the info needed to look it up in the magazine.

For example, I was looking for a master recipe for pot roast. A search for pot roast brought up 309 possibilites and none was the recipe I was searching for. I don't think they've published more that 5-10 recipes for pot roast, how could I get 309 returns for pot roast???

I only subscribed (paid) for the site because of the ease of searching on line for recipes. Looks like they may have lost a subscriber.

Sorry, had to vent.

FC's new search function is useless....

you are not alone in your frustration. Lots of complaints on the Cookstalk forun about the search and the web site design. I emialed the editor about it.

Curious, can't speak to the "new" fine cooking, I don't subscribe and

have not figured out how to use their site. Sometimes I find something and then I look it up in my own copies of the magazine. A couple of years ago someone on the FC bulletin board posted a full index of volumes 1-74 and DH downloaded it for me. I looked up pot roast in that index and found the "Making a Succulent Beef Pot Roast" article in the "cooking without recipes" category. If you have the magazines it is in volume 74 pg 38.

I am not sure if you were just using the pot roast as an example or if you needed it specifically. Let me know if you want me to post any of the article!

Oops, I thought I answered this, where did it go? How did you find that? I was looking a few days

ago and finally resorted to the google search and found it that way. And it is free, how sad is that?

FC's editor had posted in the Cookstalk forum. I can't find it, but...

the message from her is number 43416.68, if you want to search for it and send her an e-mail. I hope she hears from lots of people!

I don't know how I found it.. I was searching thru the site and one of the pages

I opened had a search box on the upper left corner that you could enter your search and narrow by recipes only. Now I can't find that search box again! Maybe a fluke? HA!
