Anyone try a ham from Costco? any reccommendations as to which one?

A friend is planning to get one for Christmas Dinner but is not sure which one to buy. Her husband is not willing to get a spiral cut one (I'm not sure why not.) I told her I would ask my "sources" here at Finer Kitchens.

I've tried the Olympia bone-in ham...

(I believe it is double-smoked) from Costco several times and have had good luck with them. They seem to be lower in salt and not so pumped up with curing solution as some other brands. I also tried the brown sugar/honey cured ham (toupee/boneless) and didn't care for it. I found it to be too sweet and the texture a bit mushy.

I happen to like the spiral cut ones... minus the gloppy-sweet glaze, which we omit.

I prefer uncut hams - spiral cuts we've gotten tend to be drier, we like to cut our own...

We like the spiral cut ones as well and, like Michael, sans glaze.

Belated thanks. They got a semi-boneless ham. I think it was "okay"
