Anyone watch the Next Food Network Star? Such a shame they had two such

excellent candidates on this one, when some of the finalists of the past have been pretty lame. I was rooting for the one that won right up until the end, but by then, I was torn. I hope the runner-up doesn't lose out completely, I love the concept that emerged for a show with that candidate.

I thought they might break with the past and have TWO winners, because they certainly >>>>

did have "two winners"

Melissa and Jeffrey: Spoiler inside- don't look if you don't want to know who won

Melissa won...as I hoped she would.
Judges liked J almost as well and I'll bet he gets a show, too!

I agree both should have one~ was very happy Debbie was bumped I had some issues with her

she told Teddy that she had a hard time with his honesty.... ???? The first episode she was dishonest about the money she spent shopping, lied in fact. That's when I knew she was a hypocrite. Then she lied about the capers. And I grew so tired of her telling everyone she was Korean.

I liked equally both Jeffery and Melissa. I found Melissa to be a sweet caring person and Jeffery to be dynamic and knowledgeable.

I really hope the Food Network offers Jeffery something for their network he would be an asset.

I am already looking forward to Melissa's new show, and I am quite happy for her, but I had a strong feeling she'd win, Bobby Flay was very precise that he really wanted Melissa to win.

She was a real good choice, but equally so was Jefferey.

I don't know which episode it was in, but at least one of the judges called her on her dishonesty--

it was when she left out the capers. I was really glad to see it when 1 of the judges (I forget which one) confronted her about her omission and the judges didn't just let her fibbing slide by.

It immediately came to my mind that she must be quick to fudge on the facts regarding any of her errors if she pulled that on NATIONAL TV, for Pete's sake.

I hope they have some success and bring some freshness to the network. seems like most fizzle out.

what ever happened to the gourmet nextdoor gal, or the hearty boys( I think I saw them once at about 4am or so) Big Daddy's show I rarely catch and Guy is about the only winner to actually "make it".

It was Bobby Flay

and I was so glad someone finally called her on it. I was furious when she was in charge of the kitchen at the cocktail party and only worked on her own dishes and then claimed to have been overseeing others. She was just as dishonest as the guy they kicked off earlier, only slicker, I guess.

I thought they were both great, I loved the Ingredient Smuggler idea

I hope they find room for both. I agree with Ang, the whole network has gotten stale, and they keep shuffling the same people around to different time slots. I loved the party (hearty?)boys too, they were cut short way too soon. They had some neat ideas and good recipes.

Hey, I think if you volunteer to work under Gordon Ramsey, you get what you deserve!

What a horrible, horrible man!

Here's where my cynical "ratings meter" flag pops up. I would think at least one of the

contestants would be selectively "offered" the opportunity for a little live drama-queen time on TV. I mean...only one person will win, but if you make a big enough splash on any of the episodes, folks will still remember you. This thread proves that.

I can't imagine that the stations would even pick all "nice" people to star in these shows. They want hissy-fits. They want throwing knives. They want lying to the judges...because they want drama to keep their viewers interested and coming back.

I hate to think of the $$$ he gets for being that vile, too. Killed me to hear that the tv judges

like Judge Judy make high 6-figure paychecks, while our teachers get pittance. What a shame.
