App or dessert for Chinese New Year potluck???

Help! My immediate reaction is to go to the nearest decent Chinese restaurant and buy a couple of quarts of hot and sour soup, but I recognize a cop out when I feel it. Any suggestions? While I'm fairly adventurous, I have no experience with Chinese (and I don't even stir fry much).

Geez, Meryl, I am still whining about the lack of Chinese food here

and it is four years later! smileys/smile.gif

Most of what passes for Chinese food around here is sad too.

There is a suburb with a large Asian population that has some good places though if you have the time to drive out there.

That's the same here, KC, has tons of places I am sure, but I don't get

out there often enough. I think I am going to have to enlist some locals for a Chinese food mini road trip. I know I sound like a broken record, but I love love love my knife sharpener. I have the sharpest knives that I have ever had in my entire life. I love it!
