Apparently, slab pie is the new rage:

When I was at Teacher's College so many years ago, a friend's mother always sent her back to the

dorm after a weekend with lots of homemade goodies including a Currant Slab which I absolutely loved. I've never attempted one myself but here's a recipe which I think would fit the bill. Perhaps I'll do one in the near future.

huh...would raisins work as well? Friend just brought me a huge bag of DARK raisins from Turkey.

Personally, I HATE dark raisins...only golden raisins are allowed in my baking wheelhouse.

I've been looking for something to do with those things.
