Are our times off? I'm checking in at 7:30 am on the west coast and see messages left already

I don't know where it would be actually 4 pm right now, other than Britain. Paul are you working out of England these days? Did your time fix fix us on GMT?

Yes, I had read the message I had myself set at -8, just keeping up with SF. Guessing -7 is better

to account for DST.

It just seems so weird to see people up at 5 AM on the website and I don't know if something is off kilter. I think the reason I noticed it was that the "marked as read" did not seem to be working.

Of course, we never really know what Marilyn is up to at 5 am.

ah well. no big deal

I updated that post to reflect the DST issues. I mistakenly understood UTC

to automatically account for DST.
But I am still confused if you saw 8 hour shift in time even after you had done your offset of -8 or -7?

Yep...been slugging down Nyquil just to get some rest from the constant coughing. Two MONTHS

this silliness has been going on. I'm going to start using that quaint Victorian phrase: "I have the vapors."

I actually go to bed during DAYLIGHT. I've gone through two courses of antibiotics, steroids, inhalers, sinus medication, allergy medication, x-rays, nebulizers...pulmonolgoist is next on the list. But not until mid-September because "you're a new patient."

I may not have any lung lining left by then.

Get tough with them, go NOW

said the girl who coughed through all that (H1N1/Pneumonia) and ended up with scar tissue to the point of only having one good lung now.

Rattle their chain and tell them there is no more waiting (plus, getting the good inhaler stuff they give you at the hospital is a bonus).

Marilyn--my DH had an intermittent yet persistent cough frm July 2012 'til Apr 2013! All that time

was wrking w/ various doctors and going from one referral to the next. His appts included PCP, ENT, pulmonologist locally and then the latter referred him to a dual specialist of pulmonology & allergy in Indianapolis. The last guy is finally the one who helped him and got his cough to go away. Paul hadn't slept well in literally MONTHS.

Turned out Paul had adult-onset asthma. He'd been given inhalers, BUT we found out that there are many different types of meds in inhalers and the dual specialist first put him through a barrage of allergy tests (he'd never had allergies B4 but turned up allergic to certain types of tree pollens and certain types of weed pollens--Dr. Baker even told us he'd had an 80-year old patient come in once with brand new allergies and he'd never been allergic to anything b4 in his life either.)

End result is that Dr. Baker worked w/ Paul to get the right combination of inhaler brand coupled with the correct anti-allergy pills and FINALLY no more coughing! It was like a miracle. I took to sleeping in the recliner in our family rm because he'd cough so much. I am VERY sympathetic with you, dear Marilyn. Been through all that recently. Good luck & hang in there.
