Are you buying any cooking-related Christmas presents? What are they?

For my husband, who likes unusual things, some Knorks!

I got him two four-packs of the matte knorks. smileys/smile.gif I ended up buying them online, as I found them less expensively that way via EBay for $16.95 a 4-pack.

I had to look up Knorks----so, they aren't sharp enough to cut the lips or side of mouth?

I ordered some meals for my dad from the site mentioned ^ a ways.

hopefully he'll be eating a bit better, and if he likes them, I will order more.

Nope - the cutting edge of the fork is a type of "rocker knife" that's not really that sharp.

I looked them up on Amazon, so I could see reviews, and they had a lot of positive comments.

(I also almost got him a titanium spork from Cabela's, but when I showed it to him at the store he wasn't that interested. He loves silly things like sporks, usually, so I know he'll like the Knorks. *smile*)

Doe they still have their cooking show? We used to be able to watch it late at night on PBS. I

really enjoyed it. They did a nice job of not only demonstrating great recipes, but also providing a "glimpse" of what it is like to live in Portland. I have not seen it in a few years.

Caprial Pense is my mentor. She is what got me to love cooking. And believe

it or not, I watched her show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia! We were able to get a satellite dish and it was carried on that. Don't get her show here now. I loved watching her.

I always enjoyed watching them. DH and I are not at all compatible in the kitchen...He is great for

clean up; but not slicing; prepping etc. They seem to have a great relationship in the kitchen.

There was a similiar show in NY, Michael something or other...Charlie might recall. He was also on PBS, and did a great job showing local NY/NJ restaurants/ venues. He used to have long grey hair in a pony tail...I think he had it cut...BUT, anyway, similar to Caprial, I enjoyed the balance of learning about the local culture and this recipes.
